This site is for New Jersey workers to complete the ID.me verification process for TDI/FLI. Identity verification is required for your claim to be reviewed for eligibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I have to verify my identity?

The New Jersey Division of Temporary Disability and Family Leave Insurance (TDI/FLI) has partnered with ID.me to verify the identity of certain applicants for benefits. This required step helps protect your identity and your benefits against attempted fraud. Before you can receive TDI/FLI benefits, you must verify your identity through ID.me. If you think your identity has been compromised and you want to let us know, click here to report potential fraud.

Who is ID.me?

ID.me is certified against federal standards to provide secure login and identity verification. Your verified identity helps NJDOL ensure that the person logging in to your account is really you and not someone pretending to be you.

How long does the identity verification process take?

The process can be completed in a few minutes using a computer or mobile phone and common identity verification documents.

I am unable to verify my identity using the methods above. How else can I verify my identity?

You can verify your identity at a participating UPS location. There are 29 UPS locations in NJ that partner with ID.me to offer in person support. Before you go, create an ID.me account online. Click here to enter your zip code and city name to find the location nearest you. We suggest you make an appointment. If you schedule an appointment, you will get a confirmation email with a QR code to show and a list of documentation to bring.

After I verify — What's next?

Once your identity is verified and your information matches NJDOL's records, NJDOL will review your claim to determine your eligibility for benefits. It can take a number of weeks to get approved or denied. Wait times vary and are longest when we're working through a large volume of claims. NJDOL will notify you about your eligibility as soon as possible.
